Conservation medicine is the right medicine. The new discipline arrives just in time. New diseases are emerging; pathogens and parasites are spreading more rapidly and infecting new plant and animal hosts. The widespread misuse of antibiotics, insecticides, fertilizers, and other anthropogenically amplified and created chemicals is contributing to the decline of physiological vigor and demographic vital rates in multitudes of species.
