Notes on Eridiphas spp. Eridiphas is apparently intermediate between Hypsiglena and Leptodeira (Leviton and Tanner, supra cit.) and matches well the prophetic description for the common ancestor of these two genera given by Duellman (1958, Bull. American Mus. Nat. Hist., vol. 144). That Eridiphas occurs on Cerralvo Island is of particular interest inasmuch as this island is a repository for other relict forms.
